How to Address an Envelope

Make your letter fun and personal! You can:
Decorate the envelope.
Use colours!
GLITTER!
Draw a design.
Write the address in fancy script.
What should I write about?
Here are some things you could write about in your letter:
Tell the person about what you have been doing at home during quarantine.
Tell a funny story of something that has happened to you recently.
Review of your favourite book/movie/TV show. Why do you like it?
Describe your favourite memory of the person you are writing to.
Write a letter catching the person up on your life.
Write a letter describing what you’ve been doing at home or school.
Jot down notes describing what you see out your window.
Write a letter about your favorite game and why you like to play the game.
Develop a secret code and then write a coded letter. Ask the receiver to write back to you in code.
Write a letter describing your favorite character from a movie or TV show. Ask the receiver about their favorite movie or show.
Write a letter about a vacation you would like to take. Ask the receiver about their favorite vacation.
Write a letter describing your favorite food & where to go to eat it. Ask the receiver their favorite food.
Write a letter sharing what you want to be when you grow up. Ask the receiver about their job.
Write a letter to a friend telling them what you like about them and what makes them a good friend.
Things to Include:
You could include one or more of the following things in your letter:
A drawing or doodle!
A riddle or a joke.
Make up a test for them to complete and send back.
Pressed leaves or flowers.
A bookmark - you can make one!
A postcard of your local area or somewhere you have visited.
A photograph – this could be of you, your area, your friends, or anything you want!
A note card – either blank with the envelope, for them to use, or written in by you.
A crossword or Sudoku puzzle.
A newspaper clipping about something interesting.
Flattened origami.
A friendship bracelet.
Your favourite recipe.
A pack of stickers.
A little quiz on a separate piece of paper – ask questions such as ‘what 3 items would you save in a fire, after your family?’ or ‘tell me about your best ever Birthday’.
Write a little list to pop in with your letter, such as ‘My top 10 books’, ‘My 5 favourite films’, or ‘What I’ve done today’.
An inspirational quote.
An amusing comic strip.
Start a drawing off, then ask your penfriend to add to the drawing and send it back to you.
